Send a PDF to someone online

A PDF is the file people most often need to hand over quickly: a form, a ticket, an invoice, a CV, a signed contract. Email usually works, until you don't have the person's address, or the file is too big, or you're using a computer that isn't yours.

Upload the PDF, give out a 6-digit code, and they download it. Nothing installed, no accounts.

How to do it

  1. Open buddysend.com and drop your PDF in. Up to 5 files, 100MB in total.
  2. Share the 6-digit code or the link.
  3. They open buddysend.com/receive, type the code, and download it.

Why not just email it?

Email is fine when you have the address and the file is small. A code is better when:

  • You're on the phone with them and can simply say six numbers.
  • You don't have their email address, and asking is awkward.
  • The PDF is too large to attach — most providers stop around 25MB.
  • You're on a shared or public computer and won't sign in to your email there.
  • You want the file gone afterwards, rather than sitting in two mailboxes.

Common cases

  • A printing shop: hand over the PDF at the counter without logging in to anything.
  • Forms and contracts: send the signed copy back without an email thread.
  • A CV: share it with a recruiter who contacted you by phone.
  • Tickets and boarding passes: push one to someone else's phone in seconds.

The PDF arrives unchanged

The file is stored and returned byte for byte, so fonts, page size, form fields and digital signatures are all intact. Nothing is re-rendered or compressed on the way through.

FAQ

Is sending a PDF free?

Yes. Sending and receiving are free and need no account.

Does the PDF stay exactly the same?

Yes. The file is not converted or compressed, so formatting, fonts and signatures are preserved.

How large can the PDF be?

Up to 100MB, and up to 5 files per transfer.

Can I password-protect it?

BuddySend doesn't add a password, but the 6-digit code limits access, and the file is deleted after download. If the contents are sensitive, set a password inside the PDF itself before uploading.

How long is the PDF available?

Until it has been downloaded, or about an hour after upload, whichever comes first. After that the code stops working.
